Laos was fantatic as Mr Lake has said...
Quick hightlights from me!
Vang Vieng is ridiculous! Tubing another must do for everyone! Quality fun!
Luang Prabang another heavily french influenced place. Nice and relaxed palce
The journey between them was amazing... up through the mountains, is amazing!
We would have loved to get the slow boat from Luang Prabang back into Thialand and onto Chiang Mai - but unfortunatley time was of the essense now so we had to fly from Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai back on Laos Airways! Don't what all the fuss is about Laos airways they were spot on.
So back into northen Thialand and Chiang Mai.
Such a great city - second biggest city in Thailand and in my opinion so much nicer than Bangkok.
Spent the first night a pretty crappy place, so moved to a new place round the corner for the same price but sooooo much better!
Spent a day doing the (Macca) Gibbon Experience which is basically swinging from tree to tree up in the canopy - FANTSTIC!
Went to a Maitai boxing match which was awesome! An English guy was fighting a local, so we thought we'd go to offer some support... he got his ass kicked unfortunately! But a great experience!
Had some quality nights out yet again... it was the Kings Birthday so there was so much going on. One night we were sat having a beer and a game of pool, and a bloody Elephant walked past us in the street - VERY SURREAL!
Only had 3 nights days here, as our flight to Sydney was rapidly approaching. So booked ourselves on the overnight sleeper train to Bangkok which took us about 14 hours, and got us in to Bangkok the morning of our flight, spent the morning site seeing round the grand palace which is very impressive and definatley worth a visit. Although don't be fooled by the local tuk tuk drivers who try to tell you its closed and that we should go somewhere else, funny enough they had plenty to recommend in its place, including there mates suit shop!! I swear we were actually queuing up to go into the palace and there were some guys trying to tell us it was closed and we should leave with them and go elsewhere!! I CAN SEE THE DOORS OPEN AND PEOPLE WALKING IN 3 METRES AWAY!! YOU ABSOLUTE MUPPET!!! God loves a tryer tho! :o)
After that it was in a taxi to the airport...
Had an absolute amazing time in South East Aasia, it's a place I will definitely be returning to.
Phase 1 of trip - South East Asia - DONE!
Flight - Bangkok to Sydney via Singapore!
Phase 2 of trip - to be continued!! YASSSSSSS STEVOOOOO!!!
Much Love
