We spend the weekend in and around Crib Point where my Uncle Mike and Auntie Jill live. On the Saturday they drove us down the Mornington Penisula to the local beaches. We saw a group of people hang-gliding off the cliffs over the sea which looked like really good fun. We then drove up to Arthurs Seat, which looks right out over the Bay. We could see Melbourne City sitting on the horizon like a little toy village! In the evening we went into Mornington itself for dinner at a restaurant. My cousin Julian, his wife Glenys and their new baby Xavier joined us, as did my cousin Adrians wife Jo and their kids Gaby and Josh! It was so nice to see all of my family together and a bit surreal to realise I almost have more relatives in Australia than in the UK! The food in the restaurant was really nice, although i think Ben came out on top by having the "Swag of Game" which included kangaroo, crocodile and emu!! Luckily my relatives didnt seem to mind us sampling 3 of their native animals at once! Both the crocodile and the emu (strangely) tasted fishy, while the kangaroo was like beef but richer in flavour.
On Sunday we had a lazy morning and then Mike drove us up the coast to Mornington where we had lunch and then went to visit my cousins houses. They both had huuuuuuge tvs which left ben with his mouth open, especially as there was sport on! On the Monday Adrian came over to see us and he kindly drove us up to Frankston to get the train up to Melbourne. We spent the afternoon having a look around Fitzroy Gardens where Captain Cooks cottage is, before getting the overnight bus to Sydney.
