In the morning we drove back to Florence, and had some minor parking issues but thank god we narrowly missed a hefty parking fine for parking in the centre of the city.Once we were parked safely we walked around the city, starting at the Piazza di Santa Croce and the church where Michelangelo is buried, but we weren't able to get in because Bek's shorts were too short (sorry but it's freakin 40 degrees, I'm not going to walk around in jeans!).We walked around the Piazza della Signoria where the fake statue of David is (couldn't be bothered paying and lining up for the real one!), and through the Uffizzi Gallery towards the Ponte Vecchio, where we were royally ripped off and paid 10 euros for 2 ice-creams.Then we checked out the Duomo and Bell Tower which dominates the city. After we had seen most of Florence, we decided to drive north and head for Milan.We didn't get close enough, and had to sleep at a petrol station along the major highway that night, with the truckies, mozzies and humidity for company!
