We left Tolo and drove to Epidavros, home to Askeplion, a place in ancient Greek times where people would travel toworship the Greek god Askeplios, known for his healing powers. At the site was the ruin of a big hospital and hospice, a temple worshipping the gods, an athletic track which is still used today and a huge amphitheatre which was still in good condition. We then headed into Athens, drove 30km past the city to look for cheaper campsites (assuming they would be too expensive close to the city) and ended up in a slightly dodgy area called Marathonas, where the campsite that we stopped at was dirty and a little dilapidated (a pool with no water in it and a bus into Athens that seemed to only come whenever it felt like it), that was asking 23 Euros for the night,so we decided to drive back into the centre of Athens and ended up at a campsite that was only 7km from the centre of the city for the same price. The next day we went to the National Museum in the morning to check out all the ancient artefacts and statues, and in the afternoon we went to the Acropolis and took some photos, trying to conceal the scaffolding covering most of the ruins!
