Arrived in Phnom Penh on 27th January, lucky to get our flight as the taxi driver took us to the wrong airport... we didnt realise there were 2 in Bangkok! We decided to have a day of sightseeing so we hired a tut tut to take us around to the killing fields, tuol slong prison and the Grand Palace. Quite a harrowing day but learnt alot.

The next day we met up with mary a university friend of mine who is teaching out in Phnom Penh and went into her school for the afternoon. We joined in on her 5 year old lessons, she has 5 children in her class and we taught them chinese wispers! they were very cute. Mum , Rhian and Lisa you would be very envious if you saw her curriculum: an A4 bit of paper!!

The next day we went to Wat Phnom (the hill what Phnom Phen is named after) was nice and peacefull there, however the wild monkeys meant we didnt stay there very long! 5.00pm we met mary and some of her friends for aerobics outside the grand palace, an amusing experience joining in with about 50 local cambodians, to old music and an out of time instructor!! We then headed out on the town... first to The Heart Of Darkness a Cambodian Club! the name says it all really! Then we went to Pontoon- a boat on the Mekong River, which was pretty cool.

Next we got a bus to Kep, a fisherman town on the way to Kampot. Kep was gorgeous, totally unspoilt. We had local crab and seafood which we had seen in the morning being brought in. We took a day trip to Rabbit Island, which again was totally unspoilt it just had shacks on it. We decided to go snorkling with some guys we met, so we trecked off round the other side of the island to the "good spot", however shortly after Milly got in the water she was stung by a black sea urchant.. when we returned the locals grabbed her foot and put lemon on it and started beating it with a stick... a strange reme3dy but it seems to have worked! We stayed in Kep for 3 days then went onto Kampot.

We are now in Sihankiville: we got our rooms free as we are flyering in the day. Really good nightlife here. Off out again in a minute, we have a 6.30 bus to siem reap tomorrow for 10 hours so wont be a late one!
