Sorry for being slack with the blog, been hard trying to get to internet or expensive! Done alot since the last blog, il do a quick update:
Hoi An: We got tailor made clothes made, i got 2 dresses for under 20pounds so was a bargain and they fit perfectly, now we just need somewhere to wear them. I really liked hoi an, especially the local dish of chay lio: noodles that can only be made in that area.
Hanoi: 1 word: COLD! we had to wear jeans and 2 jumpers, so we werent too happy. Saw a water puppert show, went to Halong Bay which although was stunning was really cold which put a downer on the trip.
After Vietnam we travelled 25 hours to Loas, the bus journey was horrific, there was straw bundles all the way down the isles and under our seats, the guy next to me had a kitchen sink under his feet! Ontop of the bundles people sat all the way down the isle, milly had 4 people in her footwell. No stops for about 12 hours, they kick u off at the bored where u have to work out yourself what is going on. Once in Vientienne luckily we tagged onto some english guys who helped us find a hostel.
Vientienne: Had an amasing massage and steam bath at wot sok pa luang, was amasing par the old loas man who rubbed milk and coconut into milly and mines body!! A nice singapore man showed us round the city here and to the real loas, all the food stalls. Not much sightseeing to do here so we only stayed 3 days before Vang Vieng.
Vang Vieng: Is mental, here is where you do tubing. Lots of bars all down the river where you swim in between each bar by swinging into the water from a trapese or zip wire. We were there for my birthday, so celebrated in style. Manaqged not to hurt myself par a few bruises and cuts! We lasted 4 days here tubing, by then our bodies hated us so we went to chill out in Luang Probang for a few days.
Luang Probang: White water rafting, i was pared with Lochlan (an aussie friend) we were not very good, we only did level one rafting and we managed to fall off twice and get stuck on some rocks, meanwhile jack and milly made it the whole way down the river without falling off. The night market here is really good, so me and milly spent the left over kip we had on bags, purses etc.
We are now in Chiang Mia, we were lasy and flew here, a 1 hour flight instead of a 22 hour bus. We did a thai cooking course today, learnt to make 6 different dishes. We are going on a 3 day trekk tommorrow, to see the long neck tribes, elephant trek and white water raft.
Think thats about it! Hope everyone is well and has a nice easter xxx
