We arrived in Siem Reap at 4pm and checked into the Siem reap central hostel. By the time we were all sorted we got ready and headed into town. It was a really nice place with lots going on. We found a restuarant on pub street so had a meal and a few drinks. From there we went to Ankor Wat bar for buckets and free tshirts, of course me and Amy got rather drunk so were dancing all over the place. Great Night!!
The next day we were pretty hungover so had a chilled morning and an afternoon at the market buying gifts. The best part of the day was getting huge ice cream sundays at Swensons Ice cream, an American chain.
Thayt night we walked over to the night market which was really pretty, it was really spacious and light compared to the usual cramped up ones. From there we found a great little place to eat, it was basically plastic tables and chairs on the pavement but they brought you a little gas cooker with a wierd dome shaped grill on top, a plate of meat, we had chicken and shrimp, a tray of vegetables, a bowl of rice, a plat of noodles and various differetn sauces ect. The woman came over and set it up, filling the outside of the grill with a stock and the put a large bit of fat on the top to cook the meat. To the stock she added all the veg and just left us to cook it ourselfs. It was so much fun but unnfortunatly the food was shocking, there were so many bugs in the food and it was really bland, not the best meal but we had fun.
We went back to the market and the others shopped while I treated myself to a foot scrub. Amazing result my feet were a size smaller and about 5 shades lighter in colour, not bad for $3.
Angkow Wat!
We had to be up at 4.30am to get to Angkor Wat for sunrise. I was expecting to be in a foul mood but suprisingly we were all quite awake. It took about 15 mins to get there by tuk tuk and cost us $20 to get in, a bit over priced to see a bit of rock and brick but its another tick in the box.
As we arrived it was still really dark so we followed the crowd down to the pond to the left hand side of the temple, some iconic pictures on Angkor wat are taken from here as the reflection looks amazing. Unnfortunatly as the sun started to rise, we noticed how the entire front of the temple was covered in bright green scaffolding, we could of been staring at a building in the centre of manchester for all we knew so it was rather disapointing. We eventually got bored and went inside to explore taking silly pictures on the way round.
Next stop was Angkow Thon, this was amazing it had huge faces carved all over it, it really did look like something out of a film but you need to see the pictures to understand why. We had to walk past a few other temples to meet the tuk tuk driver to take us to the final stop, which by this point we were all getting hot tired and bored. Yes We know its culture but there is only so much you can see in one day before you have had enough. We were all tucked up back in our beds for 10.30am.
That evening we went back to the markets after our meal. We finally convinced James to have a foot scrub with Amy and i chose the fish foot spa. Never mind the little fish yu get at home, they were like piranas. It took me ten minutes to fully put my feet in.
Our finaly day in Siem Reap was spent on pub street having drinks with the hope it would make us sleep on the night bus, it didnt work for me, howevere James got his full 8 hours as usuall. Its funny because he wakes up in the morning totally oblivious to how hurrendous the roads have been, the rain or that we stopped 5 times.

Mum (Andrea) James has always been a good sleeper!!!!
Grandma and Grandad Don't like the sound of the food but the foot scrub sounds amazing, the one without the fish. Love from Grandma and Grandad
