Noosa
Next stop on this mammoth East Coast tour.....Noosa!
DAY 1:
Had a good journey up there with our OZ bus driver called Hulk who stopped off to show us the glass mountains & tell us the aboriginal stories behind them. Got to Nomads hostel in Noosa & saw Ed which was lovely as we hadn't seen him since Byron. Then we bumped into Mark & James from Surfers...result! They are such a giggle I was pleased they were there.
We met up with Mark & James that night for a $1 dinner at our hostel! Yep, you read that right. $1 Bangers & Mash and you know what it weren't half bad. There wasn't much going on so it was an early night, but not before me Dan & Mark got soaked on an adventure to 7/11 for sweets!
DAY 2:
Had a nice lazy morning involving tea, food, supermarket & then chilling by the pool with Dan, Ed & Finn (who Ed had met).
Thought we should explore Noosa so Dan & I headed down the beach. We sat in a restaurant on the beach & had seafood and drinks. So nice! We then walked along the sand for a bit before heading to the hostel.
When showered & ready, Dan & I went to the hostel bar. It was dead in there. Noosa is quiet! There was a stag doo in there! Seriously? Someone shoot the best man. What a stitch up. We broke out of there & headed to the Irish bar across the road where we knew Mark & James were going. It is a fact that you can rely on an Irish bar anywhere in the World to come up with the goods!
There was a live band in there so we got in the drinks & sat down to enjoy the tunes! Mark & James showed up & sat with us. There was a crazy man dancing some illegal moves on the floor & of course I was dared to go & dance with him, which of course I did. I busted some floor spins & shoulder shimmies. That crazy dude had some skills!
We all watched the Man U / Fulham match & had a good chat. I got dared to steal the bike out the window & ride it round the closed shopping centre. Of course I did this, but the bike was chained up. Couldn't move it so I had to just run round the shopping centre! Needless to say I got a hand slapping from the barman & security, bit luckily I got away with it!
It was a really good night in the end & we didn't hit the sack till about half 2.
DAY 3:
We were all heading off to Rainbow Beach today, but we had a couple hours to kill so we hung out with James & Mark by the pool & then me & Dan went for a walk round the Noosa national park!
We got a bit lost & attacked by flies as well as being mega sweaty but it was a nice walk to pass the time. Was glad to be getting out of Noosa as it was a bit too quiet, but still a beautiful place to see.
So, 2 hours on the bus & we got Rainbow Beach! Had to sort out our crap quick as we needed to pack for the Fraser Island trip the next day.
Into our room came Mark, James and we were once again reunited with Logan. They were staying in the hostel next door to me & Dan, but we all headed over to our hostel bar. Jane was in there, yay! Sonic our cute OZ driver from Byron was in there so made sure to say hello to him! We all ended up taking part in the bar games. We formed a team of 6 & took on the world together. The first game was musical chairs which James won & got us all beer. Then Logan won the second game where you had to get a ball in a bucket...more beer! Then we had to race in the game of flip cup. This is where you have to down a drink (in this case: the best part of a pint of snakebite), then flip your cup on the edge of the table to land upright, then the next person goes etc. First team to finish wins. We won the first round. Probably cause we had such an awesome team & names. Meet the dominators:
Me: Tigress
Jane: Roo (as in Kangaroo)
Logan: Mantis
Dan: Snake
Mark: Wolf
James: Panda
I have to say just as much drink got spilled down my front as went in my mouth but I had to neck it. Couldn't let down the side! Sadly our UK team lost to a full team of people from the USA in the final. Horror of having USA, USA being chanted in the hostel! Glad we didn't win though as we'd drank plenty as it was!
We had to say bye to James & Mark as we wouldn't see them again which was sad. Logan & Jane were doing Fraser with the other hostel so we said bye to them too. Good fun night & a good set up to hit Fraser the next day!
