Becky Bravo's Adventures
Kristin, Nadine and I checked out of our hotel successfully and hopped on the Metro to the train station. They were headed off to Germany, and I was going to be on my way to Oxford to see my best friend from high school - Janelle. (I have called her Pookie since we were in the 10th grade, I honestly could not tell you why or how it started, but that is our nickname for each other, so for future reference, Janelle = Pookie).
I got to the station in plenty of time, rode first class on the way back as well. Once back in London, I had to take a tube to a different station and then a train into Oxford. But I got here safe, and it was so awesome to see Pookie. She met me at the station, and we went back to her work for a couple of hours, and then we went to her house.
Pookie and her husband have been married for over a year, and I had yet to meet this fellow who has won over my best friend. He goes to school here in Oxford, so they got married last Spring, and she moved over here pretty quick after that, and I never had the opportunity to meet him. (She lived in Reno while she was in the states). I was super excited, and actually kind of nervous. But Matt really is a great guy, and we got along great. They are so cute together.
Even more bonus points, Matt is an amazing cook, so he worked on dinner, and Pookie and I took her pug out for a walk in this gorgeous park by their house.
We ate dinner, re-lived old memories of our cheerleading days. Matt heard many crazy stories, and I got to know him better as well. After dinner we watched a movie, then called it a night. It was a super relaxing and easy day.
