Becky Bravo's Adventures
That morning we packed up everything, had a quick snack, and loaded up the vehicles so we could do one more game drive. It was exciting and everything, but I was just so tired from the previous days that I struggled to stay awake on the way out of the reserve. I did, but fell asleep pretty quick once we got on the main road. I had such a blast, but honestly, I was excited to get back to the ship. The shower situation wasn't exactly ideal, so most of us didn't shower on the safari, and with it being so hot, and being lathered in sunscreen and bug spray, and sweat, it was just definitely time to come back and clean up. The ride to the airport and the plane ride felt like forever though. And it was so uncomfortable. I was really happy to be back in my cabin and able to take a shower and know that I could sprawl out on my bed ant-free. I did have an awesome time on safari though. That evening we kept pretty low key. The next day Ellie and I tried to take the cable car up Table Mountain, but it was so windy that it was closed. So our taxi driver took us to this nice view point and we got some nice pictures. Then we went to this street called Long Street that had a bunch of cool vintage stores and a marketplace. We pretty much just shopped all day. That night we went to Mama Africa, this awesome African restaurant. They served a lot of different meats like Ostrich, Warthog (a Pumbaa!), and Alligator. Since I am a vegetarian, of course I did not try any of that, but from what I hear it was pretty good. I had vegetarian pancakes, and they were AWESOME! We stayed out later than I wanted to, but I had an awesome time. We were with a group of like 12 people from Semester at Sea and it was fun, but Ellie and I had to wake up at 4:30 the next morning to get ready for shark diving, which was INCREDIBLE, but you will have to check out my next blog for pictures and that story.
