Caught the overnight sleeper train from Delhi to Varanasi which took a mammoth 14 hours! This was not one of our favourtie India experiences so far and involved us sharing a compartment with 6 other Indian men who stared a lot and didn't have a great level of personal hygiene! Finally made it to Varanasi, had a cowboy driver that showed us yet more Indian temples at Sarnath ( i think we are templed out already!).

Today we have come down to the Ghats (steps down to the river) on the River Ganges to watch life here. Have seen many people bathing, washing their clothes even their buffalo in the holy water - and also playiong cricket! This place is amazing, have a look at the pictures, definitely worth our journey of hell here!

Heading back to Delhi tomorrow by woeful sleeper train where Rajasthan: The Tour begins... Will keep you updated.
