Today was incredible. I didn't think it was humanly possible to fit in so many mini adventures into one day. So I have a feeling this may turn into a bit of an essay, sorry.
We were picked up by our thai driver at 8am this morn, in the most pimped out, suuped up mini van ever, uv lights, glitter lightening, the works. And then taken on a 3ish hour journey to the province of Kanachanburi. I saw war monuments, ate lunch in the jungle, laid down next to full grown tigers (they.are.huge), casually rode on the head of an elephant, got picked up by an elephant, and saw the bridge over the river Kwai built by prisoners of war in ww2. All in a hard days work.
Tiger Temple was the most surreal experience of my whole life, considering we grow up seeing tigers at zoo's behind cages or on TV showing them hunt in the wild. All obviously showing us how dangerous they are, you can imagine it's pretty odd rocking up and being sit down next to it and stroke it's back ('Just make sure you stroke real hard otherwise they think you a fly and swot you. very heavy paw, dangerous yah so stroke hard') :S! Then we got to walk them, lie with them, play with baby ones, all very scary, strange but very fun. And one PEED on me!!!! Our Thai tour leader Gung (Prawn in Thai, don't ask) was so happy for me as apparently it's amazing luck i.e. a happy Thai person's way of explaining the unfortunate circumstance of smelly wee on your trousers...
Next...Elephants (Al you'd be jealous). They were adorable, so friendly and cute. Accompanied by their trainers, mine and Kylies had the funniest chuckle you've ever heard. They are all just so happy and cheeky all the time its great! They were having some joke between them about 'ping pong' shows and 'ladyboys' and I think we gathered they were saying one of the boys looks like the type to visit them..Anyway it was pretty scary as the safety belt was made for 2 obese people and me and Kylie had to cling for dear life at some points but all in all SO much fun. (Photo shows me being bitten, everyone else loving life, I LOL'd)
Lastly, we were taken to the bridge crossing over the River Kwai built in WW2- Dad would probably know it, me being me was completely unaware it existed- by prisoners of war, and it was just an incredibly beautiful setting. I had one of them 'AHHHH so THIS is why I came to Thailand' moments, and then bought a nice chicken kebab from a nice thai street vendor lady for a nice 10 baht (20p) . I promise photos will follow soon!
OH and Mum and Chris, I ate my whole evening meal with chopsticks, like a professional chinese eater. You are very good teachers, you would have been proud.

mum well, that explains the pictures Alex showed me at the wedding. I apparently shouted "GET AWAY" (in a leave the vacinity way) a number of times about the tiger business! I am glad you have had the lightbulb moment about why you have travelled across the world otherwise all could have been very confusing!! LOL. Loving able to read your blogs becki. Love mum
