The next morning we got the bus to emu park, we were with Marisa, James and Manwella which was nice! The drive was pretty long but we stopped for some food and had lunch by a hidden beach which was nice. Emu park was the best hostel we have stayed at! Single beds, you dont have to make your own bed, a tv and only four people in a room- luxury. We made some dinner and then in the evening there was a toga party. We were a bit late so missed the teams for the games but it was still a lot of fun, and we met people on the northbound bus who we would go to Kroombit with. The next morning was an early start to head to Kroombit, we had to stop to get a bigger bus and on the way stopped at Vinnies (a charity shop) so Bu could buy a dress, shoes, bag, hat and cardigan- he'd promised he'd wear a dress last time he went. It was hilarious. When we got there we had lunch and then you could go horse riding/ quad biking or on a walk. Bud went horse riding in his dress, which were were impressed with! We were trying to save money so went on the walk and it was actually really good, you got an amazing view of the cattle station, national park and they told us about how a plane had crashed and wasn't found for 50yrs because the area is just so massive!! We got back and then learnt how to lasso- I was terrible at it! We then had a goat rodeo! You had to get in a pen with a load of goats and the fight so much!! It was terrifying!! Then two people lasso, Emma caught the lead billy!! Me and Emily had to grab it but it charged out of our grip! Emma and Emily grabbed him again and I had to pretend to brand it (all the other goats were still fighting around us the whole way through!!) and then they had to drag it out of the pen. A lot of fun but so scary!! James' team won and the prize (as John said "the worst prize I have EVER won!" haha!! ) was to go in and each of them had to grab a goat and drag it out on there own!! After surviving the rodeo we went back to the main bit of the cattle ranch and had a mystery meat tasting- it was so yummy and tasted like roast beef, turns out it was goat. We then had an amazing dinner or corned beef (a million times more amazing than anything in England) mash and veg! After dinner we had some drinks, did some line dancing (or bush dancing), which was actually a lot of fun, we learnt how to crack a whip and then we did the mechanical bull. There were three rounds to get through, but only three people made it to the third round, including Bud, still in his dress :P there was some music and everyone just chilled around the fire which was really nice. The next morning we had breakfast and then had I leave early, to head back to emu park. We chilled out and enjoyed having a tv, we got to watch the jubilee celebration! Then in the evening we had a beer and then went to a proper rodeo! We had dinner at the rodeo, which was a yummy steak! And then watched the rodeo. At first we got to go up on a platform where we had a really good view, and a guy told us all about it. Then we went back to the tables and watched from there. It was a lot of fun but scary to watch. There were really young kids on massive bulls, most people over 18 were just in a short and jeans (no helmet), I'm pretty sure one guy hit his head on the metal fencing a few times, and a few people got stuck when the fell off the bull- their hand got caught in the rope! There were two people called clowns whose job it is to distract the bull, get anyone who's stuck free and get the bull to go to them, not the rider!! We headed back to the hostel and then had an early bus to go to 1770. The weather was a bit rubbish when we arrived and there didn't seem like much to do, so we were a bit disappointed. We went for a walk and found the beach which looked nice! We headed back and chilled at the hostel, Hannah who was in our room at emu park was also there which was good :) we then had the BBQ dinner there which was nice and had a game of monopoly (cool kids ;) ) The next morning was my birthday!! I woke up and em and Emma had balloons, a birthday card and a crunchie!! Amazing friends :) we went to the beach in the morning, came back and made lunch and then did scooterroos in the afternoon. Scooterroos is where you ride mini Harley Davidsons, get leather jackets and fake tattoos. We also stopped to see the sunset which was nice. When we got back, the BBQ dinner had been moved to a surf club, sounded good but was dead when we got there, and there was only about ten of us. We had dinner, another hostel turned up, and there were a few games so it did get better, but we basically got left there for a while, when everyone was much happier to go back! The next morning we left to go to Rainbow beach.
