So we arrived at Noosa (apparently Richard Bransons about its place in Australia) and it is so nice!! Very pretty, quite nice for a holiday. Our hostels nice too, we have a mini lounge and kitchen area basically to ourselves- complete with freezer AND oven. Haven't seen those since, I don't even know when! We went for a walk in the national park which was really nice, you could watch people surfing as you walked along the coast and we saw another koala. We made the most of the kitchen and made sweet potatoe chips, sausages and veg for dinner and even had some ice cream! The next day was an early start to go to Australia zoo (Steve Irwin's zoo). It was a nice day out- we saw a croc show, stroked kangaroos, fed elephants and saw some cool animals, but I still think it was a bit overpriced for what it was. The next day me and Emma went for a walk to see the beach- which looked so nice, before we all got the bus to Brisbane.
We stopped at a volcanic crater on the way which was a good view and also tried a bit of skateboarding. Bud gave us a bit of a lesson and it was actually really fun! It was soooo strange to be back in a bug city again, quite nice but very strange! We went for a wonder around the city then had a nice stake dinner at the hostel- probably the bet free dinner we've had! Then we just had a few drinks in the bar and had a chilled evening. The next day we had another walk around the city, this time heading over the bridge and across to where the massive lagoon was. We didn't have much time to look around because we had to get back for the bus to Surfers paradise.
I'd heard mixed reviews about Surfers but it was actually really nice! There are lots of sky scrapers over looking the beach which isnt great but we had a good night out with the hostel and all the people there were lovely :) we had one full day so we went bodyboarding, that was fun but the current was so strong, you were outside of the flags before you'd even got far enough out! Then we went for a wonder, had a look at a few shops before heading back to make dinner.
An early start again to get the bus to Byron bay, so early that we only just managed to find someone to check us out and get our key deposits back! Byron bay was nice, we chilled on the beach for the afternoon but the wind was really cold so we didnt last too long! We also had a bit of a cockroach issue that night. Not cool. The next day Emma went to Nimbin (very hippy and a place where selling weed is basically legal), it wasn't included on mine and Emily's pass so we had a bit of a lazy day. We met Emma and then went to cheeky monkeys for dinner. We had one more day in Byron so we went on the walk to the lighthouse. It was pretty long, but really nice. We went to the most easterly point of Australia and saw dolphins and whales! :)
Next up was Spot X- surf camp. It was really quiet because of the time of the year but it was still fun. We had a surf lesson with just the three of us which was nice. We all did pretty well and it was a lot of fun, minus the massive pile of rocks we kept ending up by, I landed on them too many times!! We ha an amazing roast for dinner and then we all watched stepbrothers. The next morning our bus wasnt until the afternoon so we just sunbathed and went for a walk on the beach.
We had a bus to Coffs Harbour, and 8 hour stop over in Coffs harbour, and then an overnight bus to Sydney. At first we couldnt find anywhere to leave our bags, because our bus wasn't until just before midnight. We managed to leave them at a pub, went for a wonder and to the cinema and for some dinner, but when we got back the pub was locked- with our bags inside!! Luckily we managed to find someone clearing up. Te overnight bus to Sydney wasnt too bad, we all got 2 seats each, and I managed to sleep for a bit. We had to get the train to the hostel as it was in kings cross. We went for a wonder but it rained so much it was just horrible!! The first full day we had our blue mountains tour. Me and Emily were on a separate one to em, the weather was pretty crappy but it was still fun. The tour that me and Emily were on was basically two bush walks, and we also got to go on the steepest railway (52 degrees at one point!) which was fun :) we also drove through the Olympic park which was interesting to see. The next day we went on a walking tour, saw the harbour bridge, opera house, walked through the botanic gardens and the rocks. It was good to hear a bit more about the area and get our bearings. We had some lunch then went to passus market, it's massive and really good for souvenirs! We popped into starbucks then headed back to kings cross for a night out. They have propaganda, we were pretty impressed, nice bar and good music. We may have had a bit too much goon (urgh) but it was all good! :) we went to Bondi beach the next day and had a BBQ which was nice. We were really lucky with the weather. Bondi was really different to what I expected, it really reminded me of Newquay! That evening we had our last meal out together- sad times! The next morning em and em did the harbour bridge climb. The weather was good and they said it was amazing! :) then Emma went to visit some family and me and mcall went to a viewing but for the bridge and then spent a few hours hunting down tickets for the football game tonight. We finally managed to find some! The game was at the Olympic stadium, and we picked the right team to support :) the next at was an early start to get to the airport. Emma's flight had a problem with the computer system and so it took forever. When we went to check in for our flight, there was a problem with my ticket (thanks STA! >:( ) but wether woman managed to sort it all out :) it was only a three hour flight, and I was super impressed with Air New Zealand! We got to Auckland that evening, spent ages going through customs and then Dan met us at the airport and gave us a lift to our hostel :)
