A visit to a museum to see some epic paintings of the history of the Slav people was on my wish list for today. I figured out how to get us there, and away we went. When we arrived, I told Rich to make sure the exhibit was still there before we bought our tickets...and it wasn't. What a HUGE disappointment!!
Plan B was a trip to the Prague Zoo. The weather was absolutely perfect for this, and apparently half of Prague thought so, too! The bus that took us to the zoo was so full, I didn't think we'd make it on, but we managed to squeeze in.
The zoo is one of the most beautiful and well tended places I've ever seen! All of the animal habitats look like they live in natural surroundings. It's so well laid out, and despite thousands of people, never really felt crowded.
A lot of it involves walking uphill, so we opted to take the mini train around the upper section. Some of my pictures are a little blurry as a result. The zoo is so large that we ran out of energy after seeing about 2/3rds, so we left.
Our host of the apartment had recommended a restaurant on the river called The Marina, so we went there for lunch. We didn't get a waterside table, but did get seated right away. We still had a nice view and the food was delicious! It's an Italian place, which explains the ravioli and risotto. :)
We went back to the apartment for a siesta, then went to a mall out in the suburbs to see a movie. About a third of it was spoken in Spanish, which in the USA wouldn't be a problem--there would be subtitles. We had them, too, but they were in Czech!! :(
Very frustrating!!
By the time we caught a bus and got back home, it was almost 10:00--way past our bedtime! LOL
Can't believe tomorrow is our last day here.
