Retired & Traveling
I used the boat's gym again this morning hoping to burn off some of the good food and drinks I've been enjoying. After a quick shower, we were off to the dining room. They had made a mistake on our bill, so I got that corrected and we still had time to kill before our bus tour time of 9:00. Kateva didn't want to get off at any stops, so we just made a round trip tour which took about 30 minutes. She kept telling me I could go explore but the walk back to the ship was a little treacherous so I didn't feel good about leaving her alone. I got her settled with a newspaper and cup of hot tea and I went in search of a good internet connection. I found a place on one of the upper decks but the service was still spotty so I gave up on doing anything related to the internet. I was sitting in one of the cafés enjoying a cup of coffee and the most delicious fresh baked cookie...they also have a soft serve yogurt machine which is dangerous! I met Kateva downstairs for lunch and we ate with a couple from New Jersey--Damned Yankees as Kateva says. :)) the couple took it in stride. We parted ways after lunch and I enjoyed sitting on the 6th deck for a couple of hours chatting with our trip coordinator, Scot. The weather was just about perfect. We had yet ANOTHER cocktail party to attend--this time all the California Aggies wanted us to join them on the 4th deck, which just happened to be a prime spot to watch the smokestacks lowered. We were going to be passing under a bridge and the water level is so high, we wouldn't fit with them up. I took a couple of pics of them as they were being lowered. Dinner was lamb chops and so delicious. After dinner, I was exhausted and headed off to bed. We have another tour planned for tomorrow but are not due into Baton Rouge until noon. It will be nice not to have to rush in the morning.
