Retired & Traveling
The water finally calmed down, which meant we didn't have the snap, crackle and POP sounds but for some reason, I could NOT sleep. Kathi woke up at 4:30 and we were both awake at that point, so we started getting ready to leave. We headed up to the 16th deck for breakfast/coffee since room service doesn't operate on the last day. After a quick bite, we went back to the room to get our bags and bid farewell to our steward, Brando. We were to meet in the casino until time to depart and that was the only time we had been in there. The house can't win if we don't play! :)) We got off the ship carrying our own luggage and that all worked out well. Then it was a fairly long line to get thru customs but before we knew it, we were outside. We had been told that the taxis would be lined up and waiting but we must've timed it just wrong because there wasn't a single one to be seen. Some guy came by announcing that for $11 per person you could share a shuttle, so we opted to do that. Just as we got out of line, a horde of taxis showed up (of course!) The shuttle worked out well though and we had PLENTY of time to kill before our flight. We both had TSA Pre-check, so we breezed thru security, and settled in to wait for our flight. We were both so excited to have internet again, we could **********tain ourselves and spent about an hour or so reading emails and texting. :)) Our flight to Houston was completely full but we got a 4th row seat and had an uneventful flight. Great trip, thanks, Rich for letting us sisters get together!
