Today's adventure was to a place up in the mountains called Sunnyland. We had seen it while on our driving tour the other day and thought it looked like something worth exploring.
We drove right to it, and since it was sort of overcast with a chance of rain, it wasn't crowded at all. It basically consists of a small roller coaster with a restaurant and a coffee house. There's a children's play area as well. Tickets for the coaster set us back $5 for the two of us, definitely reasonably priced! Rich went first and you could control your speed by pulling up on the handbrakes.
I went next and daredevil that I am, only put the brakes on once, and that was just to see if they actually worked. :)
The ride only lasted about 30-45 seconds and then you got pulled back up to the starting point, which took a bit longer. All in all, totally with doing.
We had lunch at the restaurant next to the coaster tracks which overlooks the city. You can't see much of it since it's so sprawling, but still a nice view.
We drove over to the mall, took a wrong turn, and ended up going down a very steep street--see the picture. It doesn't really show how steep or narrow--this was a two way street! We had to squeeze past other cars a couple times and turning was tricky since it was so narrow. We eventually made it though, and parked in the garage at the mall.
I'd been given the name of a beauty spa, wanted to get a pedicure. We walked all over looking for it and finally I stopped in a shop and asked where it was. The lady was so nice, she came out and physically showed us where it was. We never would have seen it if not for her!! I made an appointment for the next day.
We were going to go to the movies, but they were only showing animated movies that didn't start for an hour, so we just headed back to the apartment.
