No rain this morning until around noon. Then on and off most of the afternoon. Right now (6-ish), it's raining pretty good. Today was a work day, and we spent it doing laundry, cleaning the RV (a jillion bugs on the front), and packing. Yes, packing, we’re spending the next four days in one of the hotels in Disney World, then moving to the RV park, Fort Wilderness, on Monday. So we need a suitcase full of clean clothes and toothbrushes (teethbrush?) to last us through the weekend.
Oh, yeah, the slide-out. I’m glad you asked. We got it to Camping World at 8:30 this morning. The mechanic tested the slide by actually operating it (go figure). No problem, no strange Alfred Hitchcock noise. He said that the back wheel probably picked up a stone or something and threw it into the works. When we opened it last night, the sound we heard was the slide chewing up the rock and spitting it back out. No harm, no foul. He sprayed some lubricant on the tracks and sent me on my way. It cost me $140 to find out the slide works perfectly. Oh well, peace of mind.
On the upside, we’re seeing our kids (all four of 'em) tomorrow! We’re all at the same hotel. I’m sure they’ll all love it here, assuming, of course, that they like hot and muggy. Did you know that the number 97 holds special meaning in Florida? It represents the average temperature, the average humidity, and the average age of their residents. I love it here. I feel like a kid again.
