Well, friends, as they say, all good things must come to an end. However, dumb just seems to linger forever.
Hence, another entry in the blog.
It turns out that I won’t need another mmmmmffffffgggllllbbbrr (excuse me) day to sleep off the wine tasting yesterday. I feel fine; no problems. (Wait, which way is north?)
I actually found my way to north-bound 101 and began the much-too-quick trip home. We made a short stop at Camping World in San Martin and pulled into the driveway a little after one. Once home, we found that our darling kids—all four of the dear ones—had peppered our house with balloons, welcome-home signs, and notes to remind us how to run a house (such as, I don’t have to plug it in each night), and then they (he?) moved things around so that there were subtle changes when we walked in, changed the clocks to be two hours ahead (this was so much fun, especially after my being so confused when Daylight Savings Time ended), and left dinner for us in the refrigerator (thank you, Rietta).
It was great! Absolutely the best way to end a vacation. Our kids (all four) are the best.
I think probably the most ironic thing about this whole trip is that we travelled 7,901 miles to see the fall color, and when we got home, our maple tree in the front yard was spectacular with color. Go figure.
I hope you’ve enjoyed following our exploits for the past eight weeks. We’ve already got more trips planned, so you can expect to be spammed by me again.
So, until next time, this is Bill and Barbara, signing off.
I’m going to go take a nap.
