ok.
today we drove, but not for hours and hours which was good. it was only a six hour travel through beautiful italy, heading towards Florence!
We had a lunch stop at the leaning tower of Pisa and we took the usual pictures. This time round however, we had a photo competition and had to come up with the most inventive poses! It was fun!
What I didnt like about pisa were all the haggelers. As soon as we hopped off the bus we were all covered by men, of african decent holding out fake bags, umbrellas, purses, glasses and watches. They werent like haggelers I had seen before, these guys would stop you walking, grab etc. Our tour guide, Carly, asked them to go away and they gave her the BIGGEST death stares ever!
After we finally fought our way back onto the bus we spent another half an hour on the bus until we arrived in beautiful Florence.
Florence is famous for many things, but your most likely going to know it from the statue of David, which was made in the city along with many many other equally amazing but less famous statues of gods and people. It is also quite famous for having very good shopping, and is known as the city or art and culture.
The campsite we stayed in was stunning. It was on top of a shady hill overlooking the whole city. Each camp site in the place was lined with olive trees and it had a cheap resturant/bar the had a huge porch that looked over the city.
Once we were set up we watched the sun go down while drinking three dollar cocktails on the porch. We then walked into the city for dinner as a group. we had florintene steak, well everyone else did. I had chicken. Im glad I did too because when it came out, the steak, still looked like the animal. I swear frannys was still mooing!
It looked gross but was amazing, from the comments I heard! My chicken was very yummy too! After another free shot ( of lemonina! A lemony tasting thing) - so many free drinks on this tour! - it was time to hope literally next door, to a pumping club/bar with the most amazing karaoke stage I had ever seen!
It was great! Really cheap drinks, a bunch of topdeck and contiki tours, and everyone was really into the songs! It was a live karaoke which was cool because people were playing with a band. Some of the boys in our tour ordered a huge mini keg of beer which had about 20 litires of liquid in it and you could drink it like a bubbler at school! It also came is sparkers on top! So cool!
After a few more drink I was intoxicated enough to hop on stage a sing a song, which of course was " where is the love" by the Black Eyed Peas, I even got the rap part down pat! All was going well until the end of the song where I flashed everyone when I put the mic back down, but thats cool!
After some more drinking and dancing we realised it was pretty late and started to freak out because we didnt know the way home. Luckily, just as we were going to spend money getting in a taxi to go home I spotted our tour guide and we followed her home singing the lion king the whole way!
