Arrived in Xian yesterday, did the orientation walk with our guide, Frank. he is an interesting fellow - he used to fight as a kid in the streets of Beijing till his parents moved him to another school, he used to ride motorbikes but was in a bad accident - escaped with just a broken wrist. He graduated easily from his degree in English, worked as an engineer for a year or two and now travels with dirty foreigners up and down Asia - he is only 28. He is an amazin...

Randomness that i forgot to write about... Weird smells every so often in the street - sewers?! Squat toilets - boo! You need to carry your own TP. Sanlitun area in Beijing - out in a bar with a very pleasant boy+girl piano duo singing nice depressing Chinese songs. As 9pm strikes they clear the stage and a DJ takes over with a lady pole dancer....she did the splits on the pole then 10 mins later a male pole dancer takes over, PVC boots, hotpants etc. doing eq...

Another day, another adventure - but not another chance to update this blog....and now i have a mere 20 mins to reel off some of the stuff that i have been up to, so bear with me.. Wow! Beijing is an amazing place - and the Chinese way of life has many differences, some subtle - like eating earlier for lunch and dinner - and some not so subtle, like hocking up a king-sized loogie in the middle of the street like it was nothing - i swear, i hear that hCcccHHgggHHH-Phtoo!-sound fifty times a day!!!!
