Sanlitun area in Beijing - out in a bar with a very pleasant boy+girl piano duo singing nice depressing Chinese songs. As 9pm strikes they clear the stage and a DJ takes over with a lady pole dancer....she did the splits on the pole then 10 mins later a male pole dancer takes over, PVC boots, hotpants etc. doing equally impressive acrobatics...we left shortly after.

20p to ride the subway to anywhere in Beijing.

Silk street market, Sharan pushed in to a mshop by a sales lady, i get my coat held on to....we were just browsing! They were very nice sales people but that's how it's done there sometimes.

Lovely food - only 1 McD's so far which is good going, i think.

Good weather if the smog is not in effect.

Mark/Dad - there ARE 9 million bicycles in Beijing - and they stop for none or nothing. Green man at acrossing means only 1 of 6 possible traffic directions will stop temporarily.

Spitting - getting a good grolly on in public is a national past time.
