Day 2 in Amsterdam - sorry to say the day got off to a slow start, had a KFC near the hotel, made it in to town again mid-afternoon ;0) Public transport is great here, regular and clean and fun - we trammed in and out everyday, no worries.
Hopped off at Leidseplein, the 'going out area', and had a beer in the square before sauntering along to the Rijksmuseum ... only to find it no longer did late opening on Fridays, so we postponed and took a leisurely stroll back toward the centre. The streets and canals are very picturesque.
Had a beer near the Centraal station, next to a canal of course ;0) then went on a small pub crawl, then back to the bar for some shisha and apple-flavoured smoke.
For dinner it was a lovely plate of special fried rice in Chinatown, then to a coffeeshop then home.

Bring lots of money when you come here, it is very expensive -everything costs about 1.5 times as much as it does in London.
