we arrived in to bangkok and meet with zoe for a hour before she left for home we checked into a hostel called lub d which means good night sleep in thai. we aranged to meet up with aour friends Mark and Sam who we met in brazil 4 months ago. they were staying in lub d as well. at this point we found out that their was 2 lub d s in bangkok and they was staying at the other one.
we checked out and went to the indian visa center to get are visa sorted out but after getting all the forms sorted we got told the visa will take up to 5 working days minimun and could take up to a month. we had a flight out of thailand 2 days after this so we couldnt get our visa. we meet up with sam and mark and they explaned how they were going to koh phanang to the full moon party. we decied that if we cant leave the country for 5 days due to are visa we should push are flight back a few days and go to another full moon party with them. briliant idea. back to the indian embassy again to give them are passport then full moon party here we come.
we arrived to koh phanang with no hostel booked. we was going to just sleep on the beach was going to be out partying till the morning anyway. but we managed to find a room really cheap which is really unusal on full moon night. we went down to the beach with the others on the way me, mark and sam downed a bucket. just to kick start the night. we went to get are first real bucket each and i decided to take it easy as i done this before and know how messy it can get. one bucket is a small bottle of vodka about 300mls with ice and about 300ml of mixer. very messy. mark downed his in about 2 mins. this was the start of the night. we then did fire rope jumping which is crazy a massive skipping rope covered in petrol and every one runs in and skips it while the crowd cheer you on. the only rule is dont miss a jump. burning rope rapped around your legs is not the best of things. was so much fun though. by 11 pm mark was a little bad. he proposed to a random girl on one knee jumped of a stage backwards and decided to strip down to his boxers for some reason. sam took fall advantage of this by draging him around the beach by his boxers ( with every thing on show!). alot of pics were taken by every one on the beac h. was so funny. we plonked a drunken mark against a stage and enjoyed the night. at about 1 mark and the others went home to sleep it off and me lyns and sam partyed on till sunrise.
we spent two day in the hotel chilling by the pool in the sun just relaxing was nice to just chill out the last night we had with the others we decided to have a nice meal and some drinks on the beach we had fire works and set a lanton of with all are names on was a fun night. it has been good to meet up with sam and mark again their to great lads and deffenly be meeting them in england.
we arrived back in bangkok after a long coach jorney and checked into a hostel. we got are visas and passports back from the embassy and prepared to leave thailand and head to vietnam. were both really excited to get back to backpacking and off the touristy route again.
