Howdy from Barca!
I just got home from an excursion with my program ISA and finally have time to rest and update the blog! On Friday, me Mariella and Wera went to the beach to meet up with Taylor and some other friends. We ended up finding a cool wishing well and some really great stores along the way so it took a while to make our way to the beach! I bought a beach game and we layed out and got some sun, Luke found some sea glass for me, and me and Taylor attempted (well I attempted) to play this paddle and ball game in the sand. We stayed until the sunset and it was so beautiful to watch the moon rise over the water!
Saturday
On Saturday we got up bright and early to get on the bus for the excursion. We stopped first at the Dali muesem and to be honest I wasnt very excited to see more European paintings that all kind of blur together... but Dali was my kind of guy. He didn't believe his memorial should have tour guides and his work reflected that free spirit. From huge random collections of objects to paintings so obscure you're not quite sure what he was trippin on. It was a very, very interesting place to visit! Then we headed to the port of Roses where the girls and I had some drinks and walked along the beach. We had many random adventures including going into a Spanish arcade and playing games for a few hours amongst the locals! Then we headed back to the hotel to get some much needed rest.
Sunday
Today we woke up early again and boarded a boat to Cadaques, a small Spanish city on the coast where Dali was raised. We had free time to explore the winding mountainside streets, shop, eat, and the like. Me and GoPro found an amazing hidden ceramics shop and a few funny wall paintings along the way. We got back on the boat to head home with just one pit stop left. The boat stopped so that we could all jump off into the ocean which was FREEZINGGGGG and soo salty but it was an experience with friends I will never forget thanks to GoPro being clutch as usual and videoing the whole thing. Now I'm home updating the blog and getting everything in order for school tomorrow and the upcoming week. AMSTERDAM IN 4 DAYS FROM TOMORROW!!!! WHOOP!
Really missing my family and friends back home but I wouldn't want this experience to end a moment early, just taking everything in and appreciating the opportunity to be here!
Adios!
