Left Jo and Roo's at 7am, with our driver William, for our 3 day safari. The drive through Rift Valley was breathtaking and that was even before we arrived at Lake Nakuru!

Spent 2 days at Lake Nakuru National Park surrounded by a mass of buffalo, giraffe, rhino, zebra, monkeys and warthogs!! We were lucky enough to see a leopard on our first day, a hippo and many balck rhino's. Having seen five lions from a fair distance on our first day, we returned on the second eagar to see some close up. Fortunately we saw five more, all adolescents, literally within five metres of our truck. We were also the first there, which made it that much more exciting. Spot of the day was a pack of hyena's - first time the random blob in the distance didn't turn out to be a rock/truck/pole!

Spent our third day at Crescent Island - where they filmed Out of Africa for anyone that may have seen it. This was fantastic as it's one of the few places you are able to walk amongst the animals. We were within metres of giraffe, wilderbeast, pelican, zebra, and even saw a 9ft python!!! Great recommendation from Tim le Poer Trench.

Returned back to Nairobi for our last day before flying to India.
