Hey dudes......

Just been to Jeffrey's Bay where everyone's like soooooooooo chilled man with the surfing and the waves that it's like totally rad

Yeah anyway, spent 2 nights in J Bay which was beautiful. We stayed at this picturesque little place with a lovely room that actually led down to the beach. The only noise you could hear at night was the sound of the waves............totally awesome, man.

We hired this hysterical little jeep thing, that had no seat belts or doors, and were driving up and down J Bay in it (visiting the Billabong and Quiksilver factory shops on the way) just looking like total weirdos...but we found it hilarious. We have some photos and videos of it that we will upload tom (if this town doesn't "run out" of electricity like J Bay did!)

So we have 5 more nights left in Africa and for the next 2 we are staying in the Santos Express (I know Mel and Bastow have been here) only when we pulled up today, the rumours of it being burned down a few weeks ago were partly true. The front 2 carriages are completely wrecked so the bar and restaurant are no more which was a little disappointing but we walked into town this afternoon and booked ourselves a day of whale watching tomorrow so let's hope we spot a whale or two.

I think we are both more than ready to move on to Australia now as we feel we've done a fair whack of Africa. We still have a few days left in Cape Town which we're hoping will be good but generally, we want to start relaxing a little more and yes, we can hear all those people shouting "relaxing? What have you been doing for the last 6 weeks?" but it really is pretty knackering moving every 2 or 3 days.

We will have covered more than 1500 miles by the time we get to Cape Town and still don't really feel like we've been on holiday so we're hoping Oz will be mainly beaches, sunbathing, scuba, and perhaps even a few surf lessons as I don't think either of us have fully wound down yet. Yeah, I know we're not gonna get much sympathy but that's how we both feel.

Anyway, thanks again for all of your messages either on here or by email. It really is good to hear from you all and although this site may seem a little impersonal at times, when it takes as long as it does to get on line at some places, it's the only way we can actually stay in touch with as many people as possible.

You will all be pleased to know that Laura, at long last completed her PADI certificate and is now a fully qualified Open Water Diver. It took some time, what with one thing or another, but it's good that we can both now just get our wet suits on and dive without the restrictions you have to go through before hand.

So, all being well, we will put some photos and maybe even a couple of videos on the site tomorrow morning (internet speed permitting)
