Only a short distance from Tayrona by taxi took us through very dry and baron land but quickly into lush cloud forest again and into a town called Minca.
The area has been made famous on the backpacker circuit by a hostel that has a 'hammock looking over the world'. A big hammock type structure has been made up on the top of a big hill with stunning views over the forest, valleys, towns and mountains all around.
The taxis drop you at the small town of Minca and motorbike taxis take you up to one of very few hostels. We stayed in tents in a little forest clearing where a really chilled hostel had been built. With its own little stream, and natural pool, a bar and chill out areas it was a great place to chill and get away from the bustling of Colombia's towns.
A few days was enough, been talking of camping for a while so this was a great place to do it! And the tents were already made up by the hostel so no messing about there!
Minca is removed from the outside world with no ATMs, wifi and touristy features so good to get away for a few days! Next stop and the final place for Enya and Sonny. Also the final place before we set off for Panama and Central America... Cartagena!
