No visit to Bangkok is complete without the ultimate entertainment (no, not what you think!): Thai Boxing!
A combat sport in which pretty much anything goes... also bleeding stupid 'farangs' like us for 1000 baht and more per ticket. Luckily Morten found the one place where you can witness some proper fights for free once a week - yay! So here we are... and those guys (and girls!) are going nuts!
6 bouts (fights) altogether, starting with the young ones and the girls, and ending with the two most exciting fights - a mean-looking Brit against a fierce Thai guy, and a buff Russian against a frail-looking, small Thai man.
And there we go - the Brit first leads the fight, giving his opponent hell, before he blocks a mean kick with his elbow... two rounds later the ring doctor calls the fight off cause the elbow starts melting into a really unhealthy shape. That was it for England, and on to the final bout... where the Russian knocks the smallish Thai fighter out cold after approx. 5 seconds. Hm. Brutal sport, that!
