Nambucca Heads to Gloucester.
Before leaving Nambucca we went to the Heads to see the view in much clearer skies before setting off along the coast to Port Macquarie. We took a walk around the town and a coffee break before going to the Koala hospital for our best chance of seeing a koala. It was well worth it. The ones there looked really cute, one in particular which obliged us by being awake and chewing on leaves while having it's photo taken. We had a great time looking at the Koala's and learning more about their habits.
In the same location was a restored house from the eighteen hundreds and occupied by the same family until the 1970's. They have a fascinating history and gave a good insight into life for a professional family at the time.
We went back into the town and a view of the ocean with the usual surfers for our picnic lunch.
After this we set off to Gloucester near Barrington Tops National Park ready to explore the park tomorrow day. Our accomodation for the night was an excellent motor lodge with dinner in the Golf and Country Club next door. Not as grand as it sounds but very good food and service. From our room we had an amazing view over the parched fields and golf course to the mountains beyond.
