Moved on from Peterborough this morning with a few showers of rain on the way and arrived safely in Port Augusta.
Found Peterborough a very interesting little country town at the cross roads of major highways and steeped in farming and Steam railway history.
Steam railway was a very big part of the area from the late 1800's till 1970'S when diesiel locomotives took over and the town no longer had the need for the large rail workshops and facilities. It now relies very heavily on the tourists passing through to visit the many museums in the town with the main one being "Steam Town" which relates a very good history of the area and well worth a visit if ever passing through Peterborough.
Countryside vairied greatly today as we travelled from open plains to mountain ranges and through small country towns.
The photo selected for todays blog was taken from the back of the Peterborough caravan park just before sunset. The colours are amazing as the sun sets.
I will try and upload some more photos as I process them.
