Today was Lisanne's last full day in Australia. Tomorrow evening she heads back to Europe again.
We had a lovely breakfast this morning, and then headed off to the swimming pool to spend a few sunny hours sunning ourselves and cooling off in the water. Very nice.
Before lunch we checked out of our motel, to move to our next motel: this one nearer to the airport. Lisanne is spending her last night in Australia here.
Then back in the car, and off to the Central Business District (the CBD), for a 5 km walk, as described in our Lonely Planet.
It was a perfect day for a walk today - not too hot, and not too cold, and, most importantly, it was dry!
We started our walk at Central Station, and had lunch in the beautifully restored Central Station Hotel -- really gorgeous with delicious food.
Then off on our walk! We saw some lovely old churches, some beautiful old buildings (like the Treasury, Customs House, Central Station and the old Post Office, as well as lots of modern buildings. We walked along the Brisbane River, along the Botanic Garden and across the river, to Southbank, where we stopped for a drink. Amazingly in Southbank they have a beach (totally apart from the river), as well as a Surf Club, so people can swim, whilst looking out over the Brisbane River!
Then we continued our walk along Southbank, coming through a Rainforest Boardwalk, as well as a carved wooden Japanese Temple. Then back across the River to walk past more beautiful old buildings, including the old Treasury building.
To finish, we walked through the Queen Street Mall, looked at some shops, and sat down for another drink, whilst watching the world pass by. Then back to the car to finish off our day at the motel, with some Thai take-away.

Yvonne Your last night in Australia, Lisanne! I expect you've had a wonderful time. Have a good flight and see you back in Holland. And thanks a lot, Craig en Mirne, for the lovely travel reports!
