Stayed at a place called Kingfisher Park a couple of nights ago which is a privately owned bird-watchers' paradise. The owner seemed a little unsure when Jude and I turned up but as we didn't check in til quite late she let us stay (although she made it very clear the next morning that they don't normally allow small children because they are not conducive to bird-watching but one night was okay - she was very nice about it).

As we were checking in she made sure to tell me about a local dance that was on that night at the community hall which is situated diagonally opposite the park and how noisy they can be and how they are sometimes still going til 2am in the morning (imagine her horrified tones). I asked how often they happened and she paused and said "Oh, about twice a year"

Bahahahahahahahahahaha (I did manage to keep a straight face)
