Good morning Amman. Off to float in the dead sea today... It's a magnificent morning can't wait to see what it brings. I'm finding the landscape fascinating, the ground is so dry, bleak and arid. I find it hard to imagine that this was a relief - the promised land. Australia is a million miles from this - even central Australia seems to have more life. I wonder what the landscape would be like in spring or winter because it's hard to imagine.

Jordan... Flying in it's dusty and arid. Could be Australia in parts. All the buildings look the same... Pale limestone against a vivid blue sky. The flight in was very good and so far not too tired. The traffic is amusing... No lines on the multi lane roads and not a lot of traffic lights so it's a free for all. On the way to Mt Nebo... It's all about Moses today!

Mt Nebo... Ok so the flat landscape disappeared into the horizon and the valley of Jordan dropped away before our eyes... Mt Nebo itself big and dusty with a nice view. Fascinating to think that the land is so old Moses walked on the same dirt. I think it might even be too hard for me to fathom.
