Today is day to see a bit of the pain Jesus experienced. First thing this morning we hurried to the site where Jesus died - the rock on which his cross was placed. It's a crowded destination where Greek orthodox, coptic Armenians and catholic come together. There are sad images of Christ in pain. From here we journey to other places on Christ's path... The place where he wept for Jerusalem (nice view!) and now I'm sitting in the garden of gethsemane - where Jesus was betrayed. It would be pretty crap for one of your best mates to turn you in. Judas must of been the kinda guy who acted and spoke before he thought. He certainly didn't have the benefit of hindsight.
Now fast forward and it's a lovely garden. I doubt the potted colour existed but the olive trees did. There are four here that are over 2000 years old... That's one old tree! The wood is very gnarled and knotted - it makes strange shapes. These trees have literally been through the wars, there have been many conquerers over the years but those four trees remind us of the past and the future.
After lunch we take go to more holy places - birth place of Mary and some spots where Jesus did some miracles then we go along the Calvary walk - it's narrow and full of Market stalls... Just like Amazing Race Australia! We finish back where we started and tonight we are to the garden for holy hour. Not long left here in Israel before we head to Madrid.

Jen Qu. Was Judas just the kind of guy who acted before he spoke and should have known better, or, was his actions all just part of the grand plan, and he was merely playing a role that he was born and destine to fulfil. If Jesus hadn't been betrayed, if He had just died of old age in some temple somewhere instead of so brutally and horribly, at such a young age, would His impact on Christianity be as profound? Would Christianity even have existed as it does today? Poor ol' Judas. Despised for doing what he had too, gotta feel sorry for him really.
