Port Barton is not the easiest place to access. After 2h on a normal road, there's another hour on a very rough road. You have to deserve it !But it's definitely worth it. It's a very small place, with only 2 streets. Most of the accomodations are along the beach.
I didn't have an accomodation when I arrived and I got lucky when I entered the 2nd place I went to: Elsa's place. I got a room to myself, overlooking the ocean, for only 400 pesos. I really liked it although the owners played chinese majong until late at night and were up at 6am.
My first day, as usual when I stay somewhere for 4 or 5 nights, I just walked around the village, checking out the restaurants and dive shops.
On my second day I did an island hoping tour. The snorkelling was ok, the islands too. The weather, not so good. It was a nice day but not the most amazing.I met a couple of french guys in their 60's who invited me over for diner. They were really nice and I had a good time with them, all day.The same night just before diner I met Martin, a swedish guy who likes Port Barton so much that he's planned on staying another 2 months.
Because I had a good book (Gone Girl), I spent a lot of time reading it on my third day. And Port Barton is a fantastic place for that. And where I stayed, there were hammocks on the beach or overlooking the ocean, just outside my room.
On my last day, I went to white beach with Martin. The beach wasn't that white and the sun was definitely not there! But it was a nice walk and Martin was of a really good company.
I left the next day to El Nido.I was going to spend a couple of days only there, on the recommandations of Mylene and Thibault, whom I had met in Puerto Princesa.
