The views were stunning as the bus took us out of Bariloche, skirting around Lago Nahuel Huapi taking us round to the other side of the lake, so we looked back on the town nestled in the valley between the snow-capped mountains and the lake. Bariloche is a beautiful mountain resort in the Lake District. We went on a multi-trek tour to Tronador (the highest mountain in the Lake District at 3,500m) in Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi - trekking to a couple of waterfalls and to the Manso Glacier - stunning scenery. I have had a lazy day today trying to shake of a cough and cold, and indulged in some hot toddy and hot chocolate - much savoured comfort drinks!

I love Buenos Aires - it is pretty, it is vibrant, it is chic - and walking around the city gives me the impression of being in Paris. Thanks to Shannon's Must-Do list (my entire travel group is so grateful for these tips), we had a most enjoyable evening watching couples dance the milonga & tango at Maldita Milonga (which was a bar with a dance hall), accompanied by the excellent El Afronte orchestra. We spent an afternoon walking around the quaint historic area in Colonia - before catching the ferry across to Argentina the next day. Some school children were celebrating the beginning of spring and paraded around town in colourful themed costumes, which made for some lovely photos.

I must be so spoiled now with all the great sights we have seen up to now, that I finding it harder to be impressed with the new sights. Montevideo is also another pleasant but unremarkable city. I am glad to have seen it, but do not think I will be making a return visit.
