Day 2 - Saturday December 30, 2023 Cruising the Straits of Florida

Our first of many sea days. We woke up to rain and clouds. The upper deck was closed due to inclement weather so no walking the deck today. With the ship almost full it is going to be crowded with everyone looking for space in the common areas.

Generally I will not blog on sea days but being the first on many to come I thought I would make some comments on our ship, MS Insignia.

• 400 staff members from more than 50 countries
• 1.71 to 1 guest to staff ratio
• 11 total decks
• 180.45 meters / 593.7 feet overall length
• 30,277 gross tonnage

As I said the rain and rough weather cause the sea sickness bags to appear at every elevator. Not a good sign of what maybe coming.

Tonigh is the Captain's Cocktail party with complimentary drinks available between 17:45 and 20:00. Knowing that the Insignia Lounge whould be very busy with guests we decided on the Horizon Lounge.
