Today we managed to get up early and made our way to the terracotta warriors. We were naughty again and had KFC for breakfast but in our defence all the street stalls looked really dirty round there. For our day of checking out and awaiting the overnight train to Xi'an, we killed some time by visiting the nearby Lama Temple. It had lots of Buddha's inside the numerous buildings, with monks in their robes wandering around and lots of people burning incense and offering it to the Buddha statues. What can you say about the Great Wall? It was amazing! I never thought I would be so excited over a wall but it's something I've always wanted to do and I still can't quite believe I've done it. The pictures say otherwise though and I took plenty! We went to the Mutianyu part of the wall, which is one of the less busy sections and has a lot of watch towers set out regularly compared to some of the other sections. Today we went to the Summer Palace. My legs, especially my calves were aching today from the last few days walking, so I was thrilled to find that the lake was man made and everything dug out of it they'd made into a massive hill!!!
