What can you say about the Great Wall? It was amazing! I never thought I would be so excited over a wall but it's something I've always wanted to do and I still can't quite believe I've done it. The pictures say otherwise though and I took plenty! We went to the Mutianyu part of the wall, which is one of the less busy sections and has a lot of watch towers set out regularly compared to some of the other sections. Today we went to the Summer Palace. My legs, especially my calves were aching today from the last few days walking, so I was thrilled to find that the lake was man made and everything dug out of it they'd made into a massive hill!!! Hello! Today faced the usual sleepiness! Jet lag is a killer. Luckily I'm not as old as Ben who is taking it a lot worse than me! We got up later than planned (again) and went to a bakery on the way to the metro station to go out. Hello! Last night I didn't sleep too well. I woke up around 4am and couldn't sleep until about 6, then I can only describe that from 8 onwards there seemed to be a building site at work outside our window. It was quite intermittent the noise, with banging, drills and a man shouting at other people. It made for some strange dreams! Then I slept through our alarm until midday.
