Hello again - it's been a while! Hope you're all well!
So we left Bangkok and flew to Ko Samui then got a ferry straight to Ko Tao (the furthest away Island from Ko Samui). We sorted accommodation out on route, which worked out a treat - we had an amazing hut right on the best end of Sairee Beach. Ended up staying for three nights instead of the two planned. Here's a summary of what we did:
04/08 - Arrived about 2.30pm sunbathed and had a candle lit bbq on the beach front next to the waves before heading down the beach for a few beers at the busier backpacker haunts.
05/08 - Got up surprisingly early considering the night before... Spent the day soaking up the sun (aka getting sun burnt) on our stretch of beach and hired out kayaks. Really stunning place. Ended the night with another 'choose your own' BBQ and not so many drinks.
06/08 - Spent the day scuba diving off 'Japanese Garden' bay at the pretty Island opposite ours called Phang Nuan. Spent the morning training and then did the first dive going down 12 metres for 43mins and then 11metres for 47mins, was an amazing experience. A storm hit during, not that we could have got much wetter so we picked the right day!
Next stop Ko Phangan (the middle Island)...
