Once we were on the ferry we went upstairs and I had my tour guides (gian, giulia and fra) pointed out things like San Marco square and the Hilton hotel :) Going past Venice and surrounding islands on the ferry was truly beautiful! Everything was lit up and amazing, it's too bad my camera didn't capture it well at all :( !
When we got to Lido they let me buy the gelati :D (finally I got to pay for something :D woohoo) and we sat in the main street and ate our gelati and watched the busy streets! then we got back in the car and drove to their beach house which is so so so big and which I learnt was built in the 1930's :D
it is very very beautiful! when we arrived it was about midnight so I brushed my teeth and washed my face and went to bed :)
The next day (Friday) we rode our very cute old school bikes to the beach ! where we paid for an umbrella and beach chairs which was pretty cool.... we laid in the shade for a bit and then went under the shower which was like ice but felt amazing coz it is soooo hot! and I dried off in the sun as I need to tan up to fit in over here! haha :)
we went in the water for a bit which was not cold at all and apparently never is! :) there were few waves and when there were they we're very small :) we went back to our banana lounges and chatted and read mags and listened to music and then it was time for lunch :) so we left our things at the beach and across the road we went to "al pecador" which is a sandwich shop but not just any sandwich shop, it is a double decka red London bus! Very cool :)
After my huge sandwich, which was more like a burger we went back to the beach and relaxed some more! I went in the water and then driest off in the sun where I got very sunburnt!!!!
then we rode our very cute bikes back to the house (I named my bike lucy and I'm in love with her)
Giulia and Gian took Maya (the dog) to the free beach and gave her a swim whilst fra and I showered and prepared for dinner :) At about 7.30 we walked to the edge of the sea where we watched the sunset which was very beautiful and relaxing and then Gian and Giulia picked us up in the car and we went to a pizzeria :D it was very cute and well decorated and overlooked the water! outside we took photos and then we came inside and talked and ate our pizzas :)
we then got gelato and had a look in the touristy shop and then went back to the house where I went to bed :)
Yesterday we woke up and prepared to go to Venice :) We went to catch a little Ferry from Lido to Venice :) Gian and Giulia got very annoyed because their passes had run out and the sellers of the tickets were no help and it took us about an hour before we could get on the boat! but all was well :) On the boat I took a lot of photos because it is such a beautiful trip!
Once in Venice we went to the gelato shop and Gian made me try a gianduiotto! Which is a typical Italian dessert consisting of chocolate gelato and whipped cream:) and was wry filling and strong! then we walked through the cute streets and wandered in and out of the little shops and walked through the fruit and veg market :) it was pretty mint! Then at about 1 oclock we got back on the ferry to Lido as it got to hot to stay! On this trip I got seasick :( ofcourse! :(
so when we got back on land and had to ride our bikes back to the house, I was a bit shaky but I got there without falling over or throwing up :) Once inside Everyone had lunch but I wasn't hungry so I curled up on the couch and had a big sleep and when I woke up it was time to go back to Padua :) We got in the car and drove onto the ferry just in time because it was very full!
We went upstairs and sat in the seabreeze whilst I took bulk photos!!! :) it was beautiful but I still wasn't feelin great :/
When we arrived home I unpacked ad had a shower and got ready to go to a church festival which is called Sagra. the festival takes place about 500m
from Fra's house and it lasts for one week and every day of the week the meal is something different, so on Friday it was fish and last might meet! :)
Ale, Fra and I walked around to the festival. there was a lot of music playing and the atmosphere was very nice! We got a sheet of paper which had what we could eat on it. Fra and I chose gnocchi bolognase with duck and French fries and a coke :) We handed in our sheet once our number was called and then walked into where you can sit, where we waited again for our number I be called and then they brought over our food which wasn't very nice at all we all agreed! haha :)
Later we met up with Francescas friends and in three different cars we all went to a nearby city where we went "Hy cafe" which I found out was a bar, where you sit outside in big comfy couches and order drinks and music is played really loud! the atmosphere was awesome, so we sat and drank and talked and at about 12.30, Martina drove us home :) and I stayed up and spoke to some Aussies back home and didn't get to sleep until 3am which is awesome
because now I am like an Italian :D hehe
that brings us to today, where I have done nothing but lay on the couch because it is sooo hot :) we had an awesome
lunch of fish and typical dish of Rome :)
and now I must get ready because I am going into the city centre with some friends!
