Today was a chaotic day filled with activities, firstly we visited Manly Island, we caught a ferry and the waves were huge even that micralously today was the first day that it didn't rained. The ferry was rocking side to side and I thanked my lucky stars that I didn't get seasick and that I wasn't sitting next to a person who is seasick.
It was an enjoyable journey and once we got off, we quickly explored the main strip and a beach at the end of it. There were some surfers riding the waves which were an awesome sight to behold. We once again visited shops and purchased gifts. We hurried to get a ferry back to the main event in Australia that we all were looking forward to....BridgeClimb!
We arrived at the reception; there wasn't an ASL (Australia Sign Language) interpreter in sight despite Charlene booking one. We got changed, briefed and sign forms. Luckily our instructor was a friendly bloke and he asked loads of questions about us, the interpreter eventually arrived.....with a broken hand to our bemusement. At this stage we and the instructor weren't impressed but it transpired that it were the website's fault for not informing the interpreter and the centre that they were expecting deaf clients. The interpreter, like the instructor was really friendly and that make our climb even more enjoyable.
We eventually clambered on the underbelly of Harbour Bridge and made our way across the planks before climbing ladders which is in middle of a busy road which is awesome to see the cars whizzing past as I climbed. The interpreter were easy to understand despite the language difference and the instructors told us about how the bridge were built and there were loads of awesome facts about the bridge which I will tell you all ( or bore you all) later but my favourite one were....the bridge were mostly manufrcated by the ENGLISH! We cheered heartily when the instructor revealed this fact!
We eventually got to the top and I take back my statement that I thought the bridge were "ordinary" It were an extraordinary feeling to stand at the top of a landmark that I never thought I would ever visited in my wildest dreams.
We made our descent before Dominic, Ash II and I dashed off to the Olympic Park to hopefully get tickets for the big friendly between Australia and South Africa.
We got on the tube and we were struck by the atmosphere. There were fans from the both sides mixing contently and there were more women than the football crowd in England and this theme carries on through the match with the fans behaving themselves very well and sharing the fun. It makes the football fans looked even more so loutish.
Back to the point, to our amazement, we got tickets five minutes before the match started and we scrambled to our seats. It were an excellent match which Australia comfortably won but South Africa fans were excellent in defeat and didn't stopped singing especially a group of gospel crew who arrived with their instruments still tagged with an airline boarding tag.
We made our way back and we were buzzing so we decided to go to clubbing especially with the fact it were a Saturday evening and we passed loads of clubbers on the tube. The plan was almost abandoned soon as we observed what is left of our clean clothes.
Eventually Dominic and I emerged out of the hostel with shorts while Ashley were lucky enough to have a clean pair of jeans, the fate played a trick on us when Dominic and me were constantly rejected from entering by bouncers due to our shorts while Ashley who is underage were welcomed in every time. It were discovered we were also in a red district of Sydney as well and their promoters were eager to have us inside despite our dodgy gears so we decided to have a quick drink and went inside...
But as we went inside, Dominic and I have a bad gut feeling about the place because it is really dodgy while Ashley were just plain excited to be in a strip joint so we all decided to go back to the hostel which we passed two hookers on the route which confirm our suspicions that our hostel were near a red district.

Judy So in essence, you almost drowned on a boat, fell off a bridge and got arrested for kerb crawling in shorts! lol. Ash, I admire your adventurous spirit and love of other people's culture. Keep in keeping on, but next time you accidentally stumble across a red light district, keep an eye out for crack heads and pimps. It goes with the territory and unlike the hookers, they will rob you of your money without giving you any favours!
michael Hey guys all sounds fantastic to me, thats what so brilliant about travel, lack of local knowledge means you stumble into all sort of stuff! Hope the weather picks up for you (photo please of Asher on beach with skinny legs in shorts next to beefy Australian surf Dude)! Keep on trucking, love to you and all Dad
