Day 18: SeaWorld
Today was a beginning of next crazy-filled few days where we will visit three theme parks in succession. The theme park for today was SeaWorld which is a theme park with a sea life twist with all rides being named after marine life along with several marine-related sideshows such as an aquarium and sea animals shows.
The first ride we tried was the stingray theme ride where our train was a huge stingray. It was similar to Nemesis from Alton Towers with sudden turns, loops, corkscrews all with breakneck speed as well the traditional long queues though we were entertained by giant sting rays fish tanks. We decided to go to a dolphin show next which were set in a huge coliseum. It was very colourful and entertaining with an addition of parrots flying about along with performers dressed as parrots attached to zip wires so they can fly all around to compliment the show. Dolphins also performed lot of impressive tricks. There was lot of things going on at some point I barely know where to look!
We went to few animal enclosures including stingrays where we were allowed to pet them. We all had lunch where I had ribs and chips which is not your average theme park food and it show how Americanised the theme park was. We decided to went to a pet show to settle our stomachs before going on more rides. I thought it might be tame compared to the dolphin show but I can't be more wrong!
It was a laugh from the start to the end. It started with a mouse running around the stage completed with colourful props only to be chased by a cat then suddenly a grumpy bulldog emerged from his kennel and ushered the mouse and the cat into another kennel and changed the sign to 'Dogs Only' which drew a huge laugh from the audience.
This comedic theme carried on through the show with all kind of cats and dogs doing various tricks with a comedic element such as a dog driving a car and there was an one incident which got the biggest laugh when a dog wheeled a hot dog cart into the stage and lifted the flap and suddenly several sausage dogs came scurrying out!
The ending was just as good when a pig attempted to get in a kennel but it got stuck with its bum sticking out to the audience and the pig wriggled its bum at us! Overall the show was much more funnier than Jimmy Carr and Lee Evans and Charlie Chaplin rolled in one!
Rides took up the majority of our afternoon. A highlight would be an awesome dome that show a 3D film on its ceiling with all of us gazing upwards to watch a very realistic film. It was about a lifespan of a turtle from being hatched to its death which were great but it does feature images of turtles being mauled by seagulls which would have scared some kids! There was also an amusing incident while queuing when we all were amazed along with our fellow queue dwellers when we all saw a giant seal floating around rather aimlessly. It started to float to us then it started to rub its anus against the window and we all could see faeces! Everyone's reaction was priceless-some parents covered their children' eyes but majority of us laughed so hard and took pictures!
We went on few more rides and I also had too many cokes because it was only one dollar for a refill compared to shelling out three dollars for a small bottle of water which really ruined my teeth. We all went back to RV because James' back was troubling him so Sara and I decided to go for a stroll when we all got back where we discovered a quaint vintage attraction nearby with a small fair and lovely old fashioned street with a queer mixture of old fashioned shops such as a car dealership selling retro cars and modern shops such as teeth whitening services and a tattoo parlour.
