Day 17: Florida
The next destination of our road trip was Orlando, the fun capital of USA. The journey to our campsite there was a pleasant one. We stopped at a highway services café which was surprisingly rare in USA compared to the UK even so that the highways are far longer in USA. In the general, USA has more petrol stations or plain cafes where drivers can stop by. It was in the café where we saw an interactive information board where after we played around with it we learnt that it was set to be sunny few days which was a considerable relief after our Tampa Bay experiences.
We eventually arrived in Orlando and we were duly greeted by a city that looked like more of a fun fair. Most of the buildings were wackily designed to reflect their products or uses, for an example there was a golf shop that was designed like a golf ball. It was a very colourful city and there was always something interesting to look at which is a change from being buried in a book!
We eventually arrived at our RV park which was very very massive. They have several different fields with varying prices depending on terrains and distances. The gravel laid bays which also are nearest to all amenities charged more than the muddy natural bays who are further out. The neighbouring buildings included a glow in dark mini golf course, a flea market, Elvis shaped gift shop, three different buffets, a mini fair and old fashioned shopping arcade which summed up the craziness very well! We however kicked off our Orlando adventure in the dullest manner possible by doing food shopping to stock up for next few days.
