Ash and Charlies Adventures!
The past 2 days have been full of more dramas, but we are still alive and well!!
On Sat morning we got up early to head to the Chatuchack Market. this is the 2nd biggest in the world with over 6000 stalls! we had breakfast at the hotel which was average, then headed out. We decided we would get the train to the market as it is pretty far. We got a tuk tuk to the station but was annoyed as the tuk tuk driver tried to scam us. He told us he needed to stop to get some fuel, on the way he took us to a travel agent to try and make us book a trip, we made our excuses and left. We got bk on and told the driver to take us to the station, he said ok but can i get fuel? we said yes ok, to which he said 'do u understand, i take u to shop, u look round i get fuel token', we told him no we didnt want to go to another shop to which he started pleading! he wouldnt take no for an answer so eventually we went to this really posh jewallary shop, literally walked in and out and said take us to the station now! we got there but didnt pay him the full amount as we were cross with him!! We got one day train passes then got 2 trains to Chatuchak. It was amazing with loads of funky clothes, food and even pets. i felt sorry for some rabbits as there was about 18 in one hamsters cage. there was a few people doing various things for money, i called them 'heartbreakers' as that is what they did. One was a little girl playing her violin for money with a sign sayin 'for my scholarship', another was a dad playing an instrument and his little girl about 5 yrs old singing with a microphone, she was so cute i got a picture and gave her 10 bhat (18p, alot to them). We had some amazing smooties and i bought some funky attire, ash didnt get anythin cos he said it wouldnt fit in his backpack.
After about 5 hours we got another train to a massive shopping centre called mbg. On the train there was this blonde woman with massive boobs, i couldnt stop looking at them and even told ash to have a look, i saw him doing it and decided i dont think he suits being a pervert. we got to the centre and had a meal, more noodles, we are gettin a little bored of them now. We looked around for ages then got a tuktuk back, the driver tried to do the same scam but we told him to do one this time. We got bk to Khoa San Road and went for some oil massages, a girl did mine but a bloke did ashs, he made out it made him feel uncomfortable but i reckon he secretly enjoyed it!! we headed bk to the hotal and went for a quick powernap.
We decided to hit the red light district in the evening, just to clarify we are not perverts, we was recommended to go as it is meant to be a proper thai experience and quite a laugh. we got a tuk tuk there, and as we got out a man appoached us to go to a ping pong show, as it started pouring it down we thought why not. he said it was 100 bhat each including a free drink (about 1pound 80). we thought it was a bit weird that it was down a side street but as we were gettin soaked we went in. it was a kind of club with not many people in there, a few perves here and there. we sat down and they asked us what drinks we wanted so we got 2 beers, then some girls in bikinis came over and said 'u buy me drink', i was like erm dont think so mate. then this fat bird who looked like a female bouncer put her hand on ashs thigh and was like 'come on i need drink'. there was loads of girls dancing topless on the stage, which i wasnt bothered about, but i thought these girls were trying to make us feel uncomfortable. then they bought our drinks over and with there own drinks smiled at us. there was a slightly chubby girl on the stage dancing and i wondered y the hell she was there, but wen she took her knickers off and started smoking a cigerette out of her down belows i got the drift! then 3 women in suits (scary looking) came over and said 'u pay this bill and shined a tourch on a bill for 3500 bhats!! that is over 50 quid, i was like what the hell for!! she said, 'u buy these drinks' (which included the girls we had said no to), 2000 bhat for looking (well we couldnt not look when her modesty was in our faces having a chong on a superking) and something else they had made up! i told her we were not paying and they got really aggressive. they wouldnt let us leave and were gettin really mad with us. i felt really intimidated and scared and didnt know what to do, i told them i was going to get the police but in the end we gave them 500bhat as that was the smallest we had and i dont think they were in the mood for lettin us go and change it for somehting smaller. i honestly thought they were going to hit me, and it ruined the whole experience. We left very quickly but there was a massive storm outside. we headed for shelter in the night market but we felt so annoyed we couldnt enjoy oursleves! we got a tuktuk back home so we could feel safe. We got some food and headed bk to the hotel. We decided to go for a late night swim on the hotel roof to calm down and enjoy the rest of the night, it was still raining (the rain is really warm), so it was really nice end to the day. we decided we werent gonna let this ruin our time in Bangkok!
We got up this morn and decided we wanted a change of scenery so we moved to a different hotel for 550 bhat (about 3 pound each a night). it is nowhere near as nice and d and d but it is ok. we are bound to stay in much worst! we had planned to go on an action packed day to Siam City Park. We got a taxi there which was about 7 pound but it was miles away, we had to go on the motorway and it took approx 40 mins. We got there and its basically a massive amusment park and waterpark in one. we got all day passes for 9 pound which seemed alot but it was like alton towers and the water park was really good too! we went on loads of rides, it was pretty dead so we didnt queue once. there was a fake playstation ride, a fake big one, and a fake iron bru! (for those in bpool who know these.) Then we went to the dinosaur safari and then a dinosaur museum. it was really nice and we took loads of piccies. then we went to the waterpark where we spent most the time on the slides and being stared at. they all look at u constantly like your famous. maybe they think we are? maybe they think we are a cheap posh and becks? anyway whilst on one slide a funny story happened. i was going down the dead twirly slide really fast wen as i came round one corner this little thai girl had gotten stuck. all i saw was a blue swimming hat, i had no time to think about saving her so i overtook her moving up the side of the slide without hardly touching her. i KNEW ash was close behind me and watched out for him or her coming out into the pool next. the next thing i saw was ash, with this blue hat girl in between his legs coming at some speed into the pool! it was seriously the funniest thing ive ever seen, i couldnt swim cos i was crying laughing. ash said as he saw her he wondered where the hell id gone, how funny!! he asked why i was playing mariocart on the slide!! after the best day ever, we headed bk to the hotel in a taxi. we were both shattered so had a powernap about 7 and have just got bk up to go out to china town and look for how we are getting to Cambodia tomorrow! we are going to either get the bus or train, its miles away so we're preparing for a long journey! not sure if they will have internet there as its a really poor country but we will update soon! hope all is well in sunny england!
lots of love
