our accomodation in sydney was fab, we stayed in a hostel which turned out to be a proper hotel and really nice, and right next to hyde park in the city centre. and we had a tv!!! yey!!!
the first day we went on a walk around the queen victoria shopping mall which was lush, and had devonshire tea.. how english! haha. i was on a happy for the resk of the day because a dress i tried on in newzealand (which was the wrong size) was in a shop in sydney in the right size with 75% off. yey!
we had a subway for tea yey. i eat way too many subways!
the next day we went to the bank to close our aussie accounts and gave the remaining money to the bushfire victims, which turned out to be over $100 so we did our bit. the fires are awful, and are still burning now (over 2 weeks later) but il not get into that or il get depressed.
we went to chinatown for a chinese meal but it was really wierd stuff, like pigs trotters and jellyfish etc and we wanted english chinese so we went to a food court instead and had indians.
we went to the harbour bridge and opera house and i wanted to see a concert just to see what it was like inside but the stupid bank blocked our cards so we had no money...again..grrrr.
i then got my hair done in a nice salon by a wierd french man who decided to dye it really dark brown and cut a blunt fringe and i hated it. i spent the whole time trying not to laugh coz he was pulling funny faces but then when i got back to the hotel i cried coz i hated it then when i asked jonny what he thought of the fringe he made things better by saying it was a face eater hahaha.
on the walk back from the opera house a tramp in hyde park gave me some bread to feed the birds with him, it was actually quite humbling. he just keapt on wanting to give me more bread even though he had nothing and i was feeding a type of bird that he doesnt like haha. jonny keeps trying to make me feel guilty saying 'you took bread from a tramp!'
we then met up with a girl called hannah who we met earlier on the bus so that was nice. she works in winlaton too, such a small world!
