We have been back in Oz now for just over a week. What a welcome home - 38+ temperatures and fires back in Manjimup!
We spent a couple of days with Lesley and Russell in Warragul before we hit the road. We travelled through the forrests where the big fires were a few years back and camped just north of Bendigo while we had the vehicle serviced. A great camping spot we shared with a few travellers who seem to have made it their 'home'. Next stop was at Echuca, a spot we really love as you can see by the photos both on this page and in the album. We continued on westward along the Murray river and found a really nice free camp at Nyah just in time for their annual fishing competition. A local advised us that we would definitely be better off further along the river to avoid the 130 noisey and badly behaved fisherman that were expected. We stayed here for another 2 days and finally moved on to Mildura and because of the 38 degree heat we were experiencing we took refuge in an absolutely beautiful caravan park beside the lake in Cullulloraine. The last 2 days have been with Tony's mate Bob and his wife Pam in Berri, Tony's old stomping ground when he was in his early 20s.
Tomorrow we are moving on to Clare for some exquiste port from Seven Hills Winery and then on to Port Augusta, The Eyre Penninsula and then the Nullabor. Hopefully we will have a couple more stories to tell before we get home in about 3 weeks.
