This blog entry is the last from NSW. We have had a fantastic time in this state and as we have spent most of it on the west side of the Great Dividing Range we have seen places we haven't been to before.
We left the mountains and travelled down to Gundagai where the dog sits on the tuckerbox 5 miles out of town (see the photo). There are two very historical trestle bridges in Gundagai which I have included in the photo album. From Gundagai we went to Cootamundra where Donald Bradman was born and lived and we camped just south of here beside the Bethungra Dam. What a fantastic campsite. We had to travel in to it on a gravel road but it was better than some of the bituman roads we have been driving on during the past 9 months!
We then went on to Wagga Wagga and camped at Wilks Park. This park is on the banks of the Murrumbidgee river and it's huge! and free. Spent 2 days here before we travelled out to Coolamon to get a very cheap caravan park and airconditioning for the 41 degree day we had there. We spent the entire day in the caravan in the cool and only ventured out to the shops just before they closed at 5.30 that afternoon. The caravan park and facilities was fabulous. Our final day in NSW was spent at a very tiny place called Burrombuttock - a one shop town but very nice rest area. The next day we crossed over into Victoria - rainy as usual and very hard to find nice quiet camp spots. Tune into our next blog for our Victorian adventures before the big trip to NZ on the 1st December.
Bye for now
